The story of Renaissance Pools & Spas began with Jeff Alexander in the 1940s, when he first became involved in electrical and pool construction. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Jeff developed a reputation for creating lasting, beautiful spaces. In 1968, his son Jim joined the business, and together they built pools with their own hands — never outsourcing to subcontractors. This hands-on approach set them apart, making their pools a direct reflection of their dedication to quality and integrity.
The Alexanders were the first company in Imperial Valley, California, to own and operate a gunite machine, dominating the market between San Diego and Yuma. In 1978 alone, they built 46 out of 49 pools in the region — a testament to their unparalleled craftsmanship and work ethic.
In the 1990s, Jim Alexander relocated to Las Vegas, bringing his specialized knowledge of high-quality concrete pools to Nevada. Recognizing the benefits of fiberglass pools — including faster installation, lower maintenance, and long-term durability — he became one of Nevada’s earliest pioneers in fiberglass pool construction.
Jim Alexander, the current President of Renaissance Pools & Spas, is the only licensed pool builder in Nevada to have served two terms on the Nevada State Contractors Board, appointed by two different governors. His unique leadership underscores his integrity and expertise in the industry.
A retired police officer, licensed pilot, and Master Mason, Jim embodies the values Renaissance Pools upholds: hard work, trust, and an unwavering commitment to quality. His daughter, Heather Sage, joined the family business at 18 and has contributed significantly, personally overseeing the completion of over 100 pools since 2015. Clients appreciate her friendly demeanor and expertise.
At Renaissance Pools, the majority of our work is done in-house — from excavation to installation — using our own fleet of equipment including cranes, dump trucks, and Bobcats. Our dedicated teams have decades of experience, with many employees serving over 20 to 30 years, ensuring consistency and exceptional craftsmanship on every fiberglass and concrete pool project.
This in-house approach allows us to maintain tight control over scheduling and quality, building pools faster and more efficiently than most builders without sacrificing customer service or craftsmanship.
