01 / Manufacturer
Warranties come from the manufacturer.
Every pool shell we install is covered by the warranty of the manufacturer that built it. Each brand sets its own term, coverage, and conditions, so they are not the same from one pool to the next. Renaissance Pools & Spas installs the shell and helps you file a claim; it does not issue a separate structural warranty of its own.
San Juan Pools
25-year pro-rated structural warranty. Pro-rated means the manufacturer’s share of a covered repair or replacement decreases over the 25 years.
Latham Pool Products
Limited lifetime warranty for as long as the original retail buyer owns the pool. It covers water loss from structural failure caused by manufacturing defects, and the gel coat surface against osmotic blistering. Factory-applied tile is covered for 3 years from shipping. Residential use only, original buyer only.
Leisure Pools
Structural coverage for the lifetime of the original retail purchaser, and no less than 35 years from delivery, against water loss from manufacturing defects. The surface is covered for 10 years from delivery against defects such as blistering and excessive discoloration. A one-time transfer is available for a fee, after registration and an inspection.
Thursday Pools
35-year limited structural warranty against leaks caused by manufacturing defects, plus a 15-year surface warranty against osmotic blistering, both measured from installation. Coverage can be transferred one time to the next residential owner if requested within 30 days of the sale and the pool has been properly maintained.
Warranty terms are set and may be updated by each manufacturer. Summaries above are condensed from each brand’s published warranty; the manufacturer’s full written warranty for your specific model and purchase date controls, and we can provide a copy before you buy. Coverage generally requires proper installation, balanced water chemistry, keeping the pool full of water, and normal residential use.
02 / Surface
Surface and gel coat finish.
Gel coat and surface coverage, including blistering, fading, or discoloration, varies by manufacturer and is spelled out in that brand’s warranty. Gradual, uniform color change caused by ordinary sun exposure and water chemistry is expected over time and is not a covered defect.
Cosmetic variation between manufacturing batches, minor surface texture differences, and dulling that can be corrected with a professional surface polish are considered normal wear and are not covered under this section.
03 / Equipment
Pumps, heaters, and automation.
Manufacturer coverage
Pumps, filters, heaters, automatic covers, salt systems, and automation equipment carry their own manufacturer warranties, typically one to three years, administered directly by that equipment manufacturer.
Our role
Renaissance Pools & Spas will help coordinate manufacturer warranty claims on equipment we installed, but the equipment manufacturer makes the final determination on covered repairs or replacement.
04 / Exclusions
What warranties typically do not cover.
- Decking, coping, pavers, retaining walls, fencing, or other surrounding hardscape, regardless of material.
- Damage from draining the pool below the skimmer without prior written authorization from Renaissance Pools & Spas.
- Repairs, modifications, or drainage performed by anyone other than Renaissance Pools & Spas or an approved representative.
- Damage from improper water chemistry, misuse, neglect, accidents, ground movement, or acts of God, including floods, earthquakes, and landslides.
- Cosmetic blemishes that do not affect the structural integrity or watertight performance of the shell.
- Freight, access, or removal costs for decks, landscaping, or other obstructions blocking a warranty repair.
05 / Maintenance
Your maintenance responsibilities.
Keeping this warranty in force requires reasonable, ordinary maintenance: maintaining balanced water chemistry, never fully draining the pool without approval, and following the care guidance provided at closeout. Damage traced to neglected maintenance or water chemistry left outside normal operating ranges is not a covered defect.
If a third party installs equipment, performs repairs, or alters the shell without our written approval, this warranty is void for the affected area of work.
06 / Claims
Filing a warranty claim.
Notify us as soon as a suspected defect is discovered, with a description and photos where possible. We will inspect it and submit the claim to the manufacturer, who determines whether the issue is a covered defect and whether it will be repaired or replaced.
Renaissance Pools & Spas is not responsible for incidental costs such as water refill, chemicals, landscaping, or consequential damages arising from a warranty repair. Manufacturer warranties give you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state.
